en.Wedoany.com Reported - Contecon Manzanillo recently upgraded its cargo inspection operations by introducing Caterpillar GP30PT equipment to meet growing business demands. A total of 12 units, each with a load capacity of 4 tons, were deployed primarily to replace aging equipment that had reached the end of its service life, ensuring continuity in cargo handling.

José Antonio Contreras Ruiz, CEO of Contecon Manzanillo, stated that the equipment upgrade is part of the infrastructure development needed to adapt to the port's business growth and meet increasing demand. The investment, exceeding 8 million pesos, aims to strengthen key terminal operational processes and continue advancing the expansion plan.
According to the plan, within 2026, the company will also introduce two push-pull forklifts, one 21-ton forklift, and one electric forklift. These investments are a key component of the goal to increase the terminal's annual throughput capacity to over 2 million TEUs. Through this equipment upgrade, Contecon Manzanillo demonstrates its ongoing commitment to strengthening operational capabilities to keep pace with the vitality of the Port of Manzanillo, where cargo inspection and movement efficiency are critical factors in the logistics chain.
