en.Wedoany.com Reported - Truck-mounted crane and excavator manufacturer Atlas (Atlas GmbH) showcased its products at the 2026 Road Transport Expo, held from June 30 to July 2, 2026, at NAEC Stoneleigh in the UK. Atlas's booth was located in the outdoor exhibition area of the Orange Zone (Stand O4), presenting its lifting solutions for the commercial vehicle industry.
Headquartered in Germany, Atlas is an engineering machinery manufacturer with over a century of history (founded in 1919) and operates a UK subsidiary, Atlas Cranes UK Ltd. The company's manufacturing history in the UK dates back to 1963, when it opened a factory in Blackwood, Scotland, which became the largest producer of truck-mounted cranes in the UK during the 1980s. Currently, Atlas offers over 16 crane models, with a maximum lifting moment of up to 60 tonne-meters, a maximum lifting capacity of 13 tonnes, and a maximum working radius of 22 meters.
This exhibition was a key move for Atlas to showcase its product portfolio to the UK market. Shortly before the event, in February 2026, Atlas initiated insolvency proceedings under self-administration, but the company emphasized that business operations would continue as usual during this period. Prior to this, Atlas Cranes UK Ltd had completed the acquisition of Wessex Vehicle Services Ltd in April 2025.

At the exhibition, Atlas highlighted its latest product technologies. Among them, the Atlas 3006R crane, a track-mounted mobile crane commonly used on semi-trailers, is powered by a Deutz diesel engine, with a slewing angle of up to 390°, a maximum working radius of 9.4 meters, and a maximum lifting capacity of 3,300 kg at a radius of 1.9 meters. Another model, the AK 4006, features a tilting column design, with a folded height of just 1.9 meters and a safe lifting capacity of 1.8 tonnes at a working radius of 5.9 meters.
Atlas's AK series product line covers a wide range, including models such as the AK 380.3E A6 and AK 345 VWB, suitable for truck chassis from 7.5 tonnes to 22 tonnes. Additionally, its Atlas Crane Management (ACM) system serves as the central control system, monitoring safety status during driver operations to ensure safe working conditions.
This public appearance by Atlas provided customers in the UK and global markets with the latest insights into its products and technologies. Despite the company's internal restructuring, its active presence at the exhibition and continuous product innovation demonstrated its commitment to maintaining market operations and serving customers.
