John Deere Produces New-Generation DEX Series Excavators in Brazil, Supplying Latin America from September
en.Wedoany.com Reported - John Deere has launched its new-generation DEX series excavators, covering three models: 210 P, 230 P, and 260 P. This is the first product line in the company's history developed using its own proprietary technology, designed to elevate the levels of technology, connectivity, and efficiency in construction and mining operations, while delivering a simpler, more intuitive, and robust operating experience on job sites. The series is manufactured in Indaiatuba, in the interior of São Paulo state, Brazil, and will be available to the Latin American market starting in September.

This launch marks a new phase for John Deere's operations in Brazil. More than a decade ago, the company established two plants in the city with an investment of $180 million, consolidating its market position in the Brazilian construction sector. The DEX series is among the first in its category to be manufactured in Brazil, featuring John Deere technology and developed by the company's global in-house engineering.
Prior to its launch, the series underwent validation in different countries and application scenarios, accumulating over 165,000 hours of global testing. Thomas Spana, Marketing Manager for John Deere's Construction division in Latin America, stated that the new-generation excavators represent a watershed for John Deere's construction business—not merely a portfolio update, but the introduction of machines that carry the brand's technology, engineering, and ecosystem to the market, expanding the capacity to deliver integrated solutions to customers. This is a significant step for the growth of the construction business and for developing new products and technologies that meet current market demands.
In terms of features, the DEX series is designed to increase productivity, reduce waste, and enhance operational precision and safety. The SmartGrade 2D intelligent grading system is available as a factory option, using digital terrain references to automatically assist the operator with digging operations, ensuring excavation accuracy while reducing rework, material waste, and execution time. The SmartWeigh intelligent weighing system measures material moved in real time, optimizing load control and improving operational management for better oversight of haul volumes and job-site productivity.
The equipment also features the Comando Inteligente intelligent control system, which manages the excavator's boom, arm, and bucket, assisting with automatic machine movements to improve operational precision. The Cercas Virtuais virtual fence system creates virtual operating boundaries, helping to avoid collisions with structures, obstacles, or restricted areas. Operator awareness is enhanced through 360-degree vision and obstacle detection systems, facilitating operation in environments with personnel and other equipment in motion.
All excavators are connected to the John Deere Operations Center digital platform, supporting remote monitoring, operational data analysis, diagnostics, and remote technical support. Spana added that the new-generation excavators are designed to simplify job-site operations, with intuitive and easy-to-use solutions that help any operator achieve precision, safety, and productivity from day one.
