Tata Power Launches Solar Project in Punjab, India, Targeting 100,000 Rooftops
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Tata Power Solaroof, the rooftop solar arm of Tata Power, has launched the "Ghar Ghar Solar" project in the Indian state of Punjab, aiming to install rooftop solar systems and battery energy storage systems (BESS) for 100,000 households over the next three years.

The project integrates rooftop solar power generation, battery storage, and accessible financing support for urban, semi-urban, and rural consumers. Tata Power stated that the launch of this project aligns with Punjab's higher electricity consumption, broader sustainability awareness, and long-term energy cost optimization. This initiative also follows the "PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana" scheme and its household subsidy structure. Households can receive subsidies of INR 30,000 (approximately USD 300) for a 1 kW system and INR 60,000 (approximately USD 600) for a 2 kW system. Installations of 3 kW and above are eligible for support of up to INR 78,000 (approximately USD 780). Tata Power also announced the "Mera Gaon, Mera Solar" project targeting rural and semi-urban areas of Punjab.
