The project integrates rooftop solar power generation, battery storage, and accessible financing support for urban, semi-urban, and rural consumers. Tata Power stated that the launch of this project aligns with Punjab's higher electricity consumption, broader sustainability awareness, and long-term energy cost optimization. This initiative also follows the "PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana" scheme and its household subsidy structure. Households can receive subsidies of INR 30,000 (approximately USD 300) for a 1 kW system and INR 60,000 (approximately USD 600) for a 2 kW system. Installations of 3 kW and above are eligible for support of up to INR 78,000 (approximately USD 780). Tata Power also announced the "Mera Gaon, Mera Solar" project targeting rural and semi-urban areas of Punjab.
