en.Wedoany.com Reported - Weidu News, starting from July 5, 2026 (inclusive), the fuel surcharge for domestic airline tickets sold will be reduced. According to notices issued by multiple airlines including Air China, China Eastern Airlines, and China Southern Airlines, after the adjustment, the fuel surcharge for routes of 800 kilometers (inclusive) or less will be 50 yuan per flight segment, and for routes over 800 kilometers, it will be 100 yuan per flight segment, representing a decrease of 30 yuan and 50 yuan respectively compared to the previous rates.
This fuel surcharge adjustment applies to all domestic airline tickets. Infants are exempt from this fee; children, revolutionary disabled soldiers, and police officers disabled in the line of duty will pay half of the actual standard, i.e., 20 yuan per flight segment for routes of 800 kilometers (inclusive) or less, and 50 yuan per flight segment for routes over 800 kilometers. For tickets sold before July 5, 2026 (exclusive), if changes are made on or after July 5, 2026 (inclusive), the fuel surcharge already collected will not be refunded.
Since the beginning of this year, domestic airline fuel surcharges have experienced significant fluctuations. This fee is linked to the price of aviation kerosene, and affected by changes in oil prices, airlines adjust their collection standards accordingly. After this reduction, the fuel surcharge for routes over 800 kilometers has dropped from a high in May to 100 yuan, a decrease of 70 yuan.
