en.Wedoany.com Reported - Americold recently inaugurated a comprehensive import-export hub at Port Saint John in New Brunswick, Canada, with the new facility opening during Port Days 2026. The project was developed in collaboration with DP World and Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC).

The company, which specializes in temperature-controlled logistics, real estate, and value-added services, stated that the site integrates its cold storage operations with DP World's maritime logistics and CPKC's rail network at a single location. This integrated model aims to establish a more direct and reliable transportation corridor for perishable products between inland production areas and international markets.

Located in one of North America's fastest-growing trade gateways, the facility is designed to support trade flows between Central and Eastern Canada and Europe, South America, and the Asia-Pacific region. As the only temperature-controlled warehousing solution in Eastern Canada that connects directly to the port without requiring trailers, the hub eliminates intermediate transshipment steps between vessels and warehouses, helping to reduce logistics costs and shorten transit times.

The Port Saint John hub offers approximately 22,000 pallet positions, specifically designed to support high-throughput import and export operations. The facility layout optimizes intermodal handling while providing customers with greater supply chain visibility and control. Americold noted that the facility builds on ongoing investments in port and rail infrastructure and is expected to create up to 100 jobs in New Brunswick.

Americold CEO Rob Chambers stated that the facility leverages partnerships with leading global trade and transportation partners to create a unique integrated solution that can transport temperature-sensitive products between inland production areas and international markets more efficiently and reliably. He noted that this reflects the company's approach to optimizing its network, enhancing customer service, and unlocking new growth opportunities through differentiated solutions. The facility's opening further supports the company's 2026 priorities, contributing to sustainable long-term growth and shareholder value creation.
