This software unification trend continues the collaboration from 2021. At that time, OnePlus and Oppo announced the sharing of a common codebase for OxygenOS and ColorOS to promote integration. Since then, ColorOS has taken on more development work, although OnePlus phones have retained the visual style of OxygenOS. However, according to the website Smartprix, this superficial difference may soon disappear, with the three brands achieving software-level unification.

Changes in regional market strategies have also accelerated this process. OnePlus will focus on the Indian and Chinese markets, while Realme will target Europe and other regions. In India, OnePlus and Oppo have already merged their repair centers and after-sales service points.

For users, the impact varies by brand. Realme users will hardly notice any change, as Realme UI is already highly similar in design to ColorOS. In contrast, OnePlus users, accustomed to the lightweight and clean interface of OxygenOS—which debuted in 2014, originating from CyanogenMod—may feel the difference. Realme UI was launched in 2018 when Realme spun off from Oppo as an independent brand.

As of now, OnePlus, Realme, and Oppo have not issued any official statements on this matter. The potential deployment timeline remains undisclosed, and it is unclear whether the change will be implemented uniformly or gradually.
