en.Wedoany.com Reported - Spanish renewable energy platform Qualitas Energy has secured approximately €172 million in non-recourse project financing for a solar portfolio in Italy with a total installed capacity of 156 MWp. The portfolio consists of 15 solar plants located across Italy, with revenue streams relying on Italy's renewable energy support mechanisms FER X and FER X NZIA, as well as long-term power purchase agreements. CaixaBank, La Banque Postale, and DekaBank jointly arranged the financing. Qualitas Energy currently holds 65 MWp of Ready-to-Build projects in Italy, with an additional portfolio of over 1 GW under development, primarily focused on wind power.

Valfortec, a Castellón-based photovoltaic power plant developer, builder, and operator, has commissioned the Es Rafalot solar plant in the municipality of Bunyola on the island of Mallorca. The plant has an installed capacity of 39.9 MW and is equipped with nearly 80,000 solar modules. Valfortec claims it is the largest solar plant on Mallorca. The project covers 100 hectares, of which 32 hectares are occupied by the plant itself, with the remaining area used for landscape integration and agricultural purposes. The plant is paired with a 30/66 kV step-up substation for power transmission. At the end of June, following coordination with Endesa, the plant achieved grid connection and began generating electricity.
French natural hydrogen exploration company Mantle8 has obtained two exploration permits in Spain—Aralar I and Aralar II—covering approximately 960 square kilometers in the Navarre and Basque regions. The permits authorize non-invasive geological studies to assess the potential for natural hydrogen and helium. The company will utilize its proprietary technologies Geologix, Horex, and Apogeh, integrated into a geological analysis platform, to determine the feasibility of next-stage survey activities. Mantle8 recently completed a €31 million Series A funding round and secured a five-year exploration permit in the French Pyrenees.
Plenitude, the renewable energy division of Italian oil company Eni, has commenced operations at the Villarino solar plant in Villarino de los Aires, Salamanca. The plant has an installed capacity of 220 MW, occupies approximately 286 hectares, and consists of over 365,000 bifacial modules, with an expected annual power generation exceeding 400 GWh. The project broke ground in October 2024 and was completed on schedule, despite complex geological and environmental conditions at the site that required special solutions during the engineering and construction phases.
