en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) has approved a BRL 98.3 million financing for the digitalization and modernization project of Primo Tedesco, a company based in Caçador, Santa Catarina, involved in the production of pulp, paper, corrugated cardboard packaging, and industrial bags.

The project plans to deploy industrial IoT solutions across the entire production line, including sensors, high-precision scanners, and real-time monitoring systems. This is expected to enhance efficiency, increasing the daily output of the recycled paper machine from 100 tons to 170 tons.

The project also brings environmental benefits, focusing on the reuse of waste generated during the production process, while also anticipating an 18% reduction in steam consumption in the paper production stage, contributing to improved energy efficiency.

"BNDES's support has enabled Tedesco to achieve a significant technological leap, increasing our production capacity and consolidating our competitiveness in strategic sectors of the Brazilian economy, while adopting increasingly sustainable solutions," said the company's CEO, Marcelo Tedesco.

The operation is carried out under the "Investment in Innovation" (Investimento em Inovação) modality within the "More Innovation Program" (Programa Mais Inovação), aligning with the mission of "New Industry Brazil" (Nova Indústria Brasil, NIB) to drive digital transformation and enhance the competitiveness of national industry. By increasing the use of recycled paper in production, the project also contributes to the goals of the National Solid Waste Plan and the National Circular Economy Strategy.

"By financing digital transformation, BNDES promotes the absorption of new technologies and strengthens the production capacity of Brazilian companies. In line with the federal government's industrial policy, the Bank continues to support innovative projects that help enhance the competitiveness of our industry," said BNDES President Aloizio Mercadante.

Beyond directly benefiting the company, this investment also strengthens industrial activity in the inland region of Santa Catarina, where the paper and recycling production chain holds significant economic importance. The modernization of the plant will help boost the competitiveness of the local industry and expand the value creation potential in strategic sectors of the regional economy.
