GEA Launches Changeover Assist App for Food Equipment

en.Wedoany.com Reported - GEA has launched the digital application Changeover Assist to support product and recipe changeovers on food processing and packaging equipment. The application runs on the GEA SmartControl human-machine interface and is initially available for the PowerPak series of thermoforming packaging machines and the MaxiFormer drum former, with plans to expand to OptiSlicer slicing equipment in the future.

Changeover Assist displays the corresponding changeover steps on the machine based on the specific product or recipe, supports multiple languages, and allows images, videos, and other job information to be added to the operating instructions. Operators must confirm each completed changeover step individually, and the system records the relevant operations simultaneously; the machine can only be restarted once all required steps have been confirmed.

The application also connects to the GEA cloud-based InsightPartner platform, allowing users to centrally create, update, and manage changeover instructions and use the content across different production sites. GEA also offers the InsightPartner Notification Service and a mobile app to send real-time machine notifications to designated personnel.
