High-performance titanium alloy is a key material for core components of aero engines. Baowu Special Metallurgy, together with AECC Shenyang Liming Aero Engine Co., Ltd., Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Northwestern Polytechnical University, formed an industry-university-research-application team. After more than 20 years of continuous research, they comprehensively broke through the full-chain core manufacturing technology for key structural parts of high-performance aero engine titanium alloys. The overall results have reached the international advanced level, with key processes leading the world, successfully breaking foreign technological monopolies. The project adopted innovative two-step intermediate alloy preparation technology to develop ultra-large specification pure titanium alloy ingots; applied a temperature-controlled deformation new process to solve the industry problem of uneven rod structure; optimized the entire isothermal forging process to break through the bottleneck of stable batch production of large components, producing the world's largest specification titanium alloy disc forgings, filling the domestic gap in the manufacturing of ultra-large engine rotating parts. The project has applied for and been granted 40 invention patents, published 72 papers, and formulated 10 national standards.

With the rapid development of China's aerospace, nuclear power, and energy sectors, the demand for special alloy seamless tubes represented by high-temperature alloys has increased. The skilled team led by Chen Tao has worked in the steel tube cold rolling production line for 39 years, carrying out equipment technology research. They pioneered 14 unique skills for cold rolling production line installation and adjustment, breaking through three core technologies: closed-loop control of rolling mechanism motion precision, coordinated control of feed and rotation multi-axis systems, and dynamic adaptation of tube billet-tool system, reaching the international advanced level. This achievement has been granted 37 pieces of intellectual property, completed the first domestic cold rolling of multiple grades of special alloy seamless tubes, achieved full-process autonomous control of cold rolling tube production, replaced imports with industrial mass production, and ensured the stability of China's supply chain for key materials.

Baowu Special Metallurgy stated that it will continue to strengthen its core supply assurance capabilities, activate endogenous momentum through reform, and promote the high-end upgrade of products through innovation.
