en.Wedoany.com Reported - Cloud computing company Salesforce announced plans to invest $1 billion in Switzerland over the next five years to accelerate the country's agentic AI transformation. Salesforce Chairman and CEO Marc Benioff announced the investment plan during a visit to Switzerland, ahead of the "AI for Good Global Summit" in Geneva. During the summit, Benioff will co-chair the inaugural meeting of the "AI for Good Global Council" with Rwandan President Paul Kagame and ITU Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin. The council brings together over 40 heads of state, industry CEOs, and leaders of international organizations to advance responsible AI development and viable pathways for global equitable access. Benioff stated that Switzerland is a hub for global institutions, pioneering companies, and a deep tradition of innovation and trust, and the company is pleased to expand its local operations through this investment, collaborating with Swiss organizations to drive the development of agentic enterprises.

Switzerland plays a leading role in shaping AI governance. It is home to the ITU, the World Economic Forum, and dozens of international organizations, and will host the Global AI Summit in 2027 (following France in 2025 and India in 2026). Mr. Benioff is a member of the World Economic Forum Board of Trustees and personally supports the Crowther Lab at ETH Zurich. Salesforce opened its first office in Switzerland in 2004 and currently has offices in Zurich and Lausanne, serving over 1,000 local customers and collaborating with more than 100 partners to drive digital transformation.

In sectors such as banking, life sciences, and energy, Salesforce is helping Swiss enterprises integrate people, agents, and systems through its platform Agentforce. Specific examples include: European virtual care provider Oviva uses Agentforce to autonomously handle over 300,000 customer messages per month, intercepting 50% of inquiries and resolving 40% of operational support issues (such as password resets and dietitian assignments) without human intervention; Swiss bag manufacturer FREITAG deployed an AI agent "FRIDA" powered by Agentforce to handle repetitive customer inquiries, achieving over 95% customer satisfaction; the World Economic Forum used Agentforce to build an agentic concierge service named "EVA," which provided personalized scheduling, navigation, and briefing generation for over 3,000 global leaders at the 2026 Davos Annual Meeting. Syngenta Group CEO Jeff Rowe commented that Salesforce has been a strategic technology partner for 14 years, and Agentforce is helping sales teams work smarter, improving data cycles so that advisors spend less time gathering information and more time helping farmers. When data is connected and accessible, AI has the potential to make agriculture one of the most digitized industries in the world.

Additionally, Salesforce's technology supports over 480 Swiss non-profit organizations and higher education institutions. The company's "Women Return to Work" program, launched in Switzerland in 2020, has helped over 600 women earn more than 1,000 Salesforce certifications. Since 2015, through the Davos Code initiative, the company has partnered with mountain schools to provide hundreds of Swiss students with hands-on experience in programming, data analysis, and AI. Salesforce has provided over $7.5 million in grants to local non-profits and higher education institutions, and employees have volunteered more than 79,000 hours, including species conservation projects with the Swiss Bird Protection Association and tree planting with the World Wildlife Fund. Great Places to Work ranked Salesforce as the third best large workplace in Switzerland this year.
