en.Wedoany.com Reported - Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with CRSC's CASCO in China to jointly build a rail transit joint laboratory, upgrading their cooperation from the project engineering level to joint technology R&D and collaborative innovation. The delegation visited China for in-depth consultations on the ongoing construction of the Dubai Metro Blue Line project and reached multiple consensuses on medium- to long-term technological collaboration, aiming to support the expansion and intelligent operation of Dubai's rail transit network.

According to the MOU, the two parties will jointly build a specialized rail transit R&D center and innovation laboratory in Dubai, creating a comprehensive technical platform integrating system testing, functional verification, and talent training. This platform will support the deep integration of signaling, communication, control, and operation systems, providing full lifecycle technical assurance for the construction of the Dubai Metro Blue Line, subsequent new line planning, and modernization of existing lines. Meanwhile, the laboratory will focus on two frontier research directions: intelligent maintenance and AI-driven operational dispatching, to ensure equipment operational status and service life, and enhance the operational efficiency of the metro network.

Previously, CASCO successfully won the bid for the communication and signaling integration project for the Dubai Metro Blue Line. This line is a GoA4 fully automatic driverless line, with technical standards among the highest globally, marking a significant step for China's core rail transit technologies entering the international high-end market. Leveraging both the ongoing project and the newly established joint laboratory, CASCO will work with Dubai RTA to advance the localization and adaptation of cutting-edge technologies, simultaneously cultivate local rail transit professionals, and help Dubai build a regional hub for rail transit technology innovation.

Before the signing ceremony, the Dubai RTA delegation visited the Shanghai Rail Transit Unmanned Train Control System Engineering Technology Research Center, led by CASCO. Through scenario demonstrations and functional explanations, they gained in-depth understanding of multiple key technologies and operational scenarios to be applied to the Dubai Metro Blue Line, and fully affirmed CASCO's core technology reserves and major project delivery capabilities. CRSC has accumulated overseas project implementation experience and localized service capabilities through its participation in the construction of over 190 metro lines globally. The establishment of this joint laboratory will solidify its global development layout, leveraging its independently controllable intelligent control technologies to participate in global rail transit construction.
