en.Wedoany.com Reported - The bidding for the investor of the G4223 Wuhan to Chongqing Expressway Wuhan Section (Phase II) project in China has recently been completed, with the results announcement indicating that the project is scheduled to commence on December 1, 2026.

This expressway section starts at Dongfang Village, Daji Subdistrict, Caidian District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province (the project's mainline toll station), and ends at Zhengguang Village, Yuxian Subdistrict, connecting to the already completed Wuyu Expressway Wuhan to Hanchuan Section. The project is constructed to the standards of a two-way six-lane expressway with a design speed of 120 km/h and a roadbed width of 34 meters. A total of 9 mainline bridges will be built along the entire route, including 2 extra-large bridges and 7 large bridges, with the bridge length accounting for 49.97% of the total route length. Additionally, the project will construct 2 interchanges (including 1 hub interchange and 1 general interchange), 1 open service area, and 1 mainline toll station.

The project also includes a connecting line with a total length of 1.538 kilometers. It starts at Xiaoji Village, Daji Subdistrict (858 meters west of Zhiyinhu Avenue), intersecting with Swan Lake Avenue at grade, then passes through the Daji Interchange in Xiaoji Village to connect with the at-grade intersection of Zhiyinhu Avenue and Dadun Road, ending at Dongfang Village, Daji Subdistrict, where the project's mainline toll station is located. The connecting line is constructed to Class 1 highway standards with a design speed of 80 km/h. The section from the starting point to the Daji Interchange is a two-way four-lane road with a roadbed width of 25.5 meters and a length of 0.938 kilometers. The section from the Daji Interchange to the mainline toll station is a two-way six-lane road with a roadbed width of 33 meters and a length of 0.6 kilometers. Along the route, 1 frame bridge and 1 interchange will be built.

According to the bidding documents, the estimated total investment for the project construction is approximately 4.068 billion yuan. The actual construction content, scale, and total investment will be subject to the final approval of the competent government authorities.

The bidding is divided into one bid section, namely the WTEQTZR-1 bid section. The evaluation results show that the consortium composed of Wuhan Transportation Engineering Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd., China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Group Co., Ltd., Wuhan Municipal Road and Bridge Co., Ltd., and Wuhan Comprehensive Transportation Research Institute Co., Ltd. ranks first, with a bid price of 4.068 billion yuan. Guizhou Bridge Construction Group Co., Ltd. and CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. rank second and third respectively, both with a bid price of 4.068 billion yuan. The planned construction period of the project is 1,260 calendar days.
