en.Wedoany.com Reported - The deep foundation works for the Puente Santa Rosa project in Peru have commenced, involving 32 reinforced concrete piles, each reaching a depth of 24 meters, as bridge abutment foundations. A BAUER BG 28 hydraulic drill rig is being used for the pile drilling operations. This is a critical step in constructing the final access road to the new Jorge Chávez International Airport (Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez).

Peru's Minister of Transport and Communications, Aldo Prieto Barrera, inspected the site where pile drilling operations have begun. The ministry stated that this project aims to strengthen national road infrastructure, improve connectivity between Lima and Callao, and provide safe and efficient access to the country's main aviation hub.

The Minister of Transport and Communications noted that the massive investment in the new airport will be complemented by the construction of its final access road, reaffirming the ministry's commitment to the timely execution of infrastructure projects. This project will transform travel patterns in Peru's primary port city and improve the travel experience for millions of passengers using the new airport. Construction is proceeding in parallel with a traffic diversion plan implemented on Avenida Morales Duárez to ensure safe conditions for vehicular and pedestrian traffic during the works.

The Santa Rosa Bridge is part of a modern transportation hub that includes a 65-meter span bridge, new access roads, an interchange on Avenida Morales Duárez, bank protection works on the Rímac River (río Rímac), and urban landscaping spaces. These works are designed to optimize traffic flow to the airport, alleviate road congestion in Callao, and strengthen connections with the main thoroughfares of the Lima metropolitan area.

The project is being executed by Peru's National Road Authority (Provías Nacional) under a government-to-government model with France, implemented through PMO Vías, which incorporates international high standards in infrastructure management and construction experience.
