en.Wedoany.com Reported - The American Concrete Institute (ACI) has added ACI 440.11-22, "Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete Reinforced with Glass Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) Bars – Code and Commentary," to its ACI PLUS platform. This digital version offers subscribers an enhanced browsing and application experience, including faster navigation of code requirements through advanced search tools, improved productivity with searchable notes and commentary, instant access to related ACI publications and references via integrated links, and a consolidated, all-in-one environment to explore, understand, and apply ACI technical resources.
Developed through ACI's consensus process, ACI 440.11-22 covers structural systems, members, and connections, involving cast-in-place, precast, non-prestressed, and composite structures. The code specifies minimum requirements for materials, design, and detailing, applicable to structural concrete buildings and, where relevant, non-building structures using products conforming to ASTM D7957-22, "Standard Specification for Solid Round Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer Bars for Concrete Reinforcement." On the ACI PLUS platform, the ACI 440.11-22 edition integrates access to the ACI GFRP Reinforced Concrete Design Handbook MNL-7(23), an essential reference for professionals focused on concrete structures using non-metallic GFRP bars.
Mike Tholen, Senior Managing Director of Technical Operations at ACI, stated that engineers and designers working with GFRP bars require fast, reliable access to key code provisions and supporting information. By bringing ACI 440.11 to the ACI PLUS platform, users can navigate requirements more efficiently, instantly connect to relevant resources, and gain a deeper understanding of the code within an interactive digital environment.
