en.Wedoany.com Reported - Emerson has released a synchronization software called the Ovation Curation Tool, designed specifically for power and water control systems to maintain version control and change history across multiple Ovation systems and simulators.
This tool, tailored for control systems and digital twins, automatically manages changes between a plant's production system and its digital twin. Emerson states that this will help improve the accuracy of testing and training, save engineering time, and accelerate troubleshooting.
The software automatically tracks changes to the control system over time and rapidly deploys those changes to other control systems and simulations via an intuitive dashboard. Rick Kephart, Vice President of Technology for Emerson's Power and Water business, noted that keeping digital twins continuously synchronized with real-time systems has always been a challenge, and labor shortages have made finding and retaining expert talent more difficult, further compounding the issue. The Ovation Curation Tool helps teams deliver lifecycle value for Emerson's Ovation digital twins by ensuring simulations remain relevant, providing ongoing benefits through improved training, testing, engineering, and forecasting.
The software can run as frequently as an organization requires, automatically identifying and tracking any changes to the control system. Users can view change history and audit information through an intuitive dashboard, which displays what was changed, who made the change, and when the change occurred. After changes are verified, users can initiate automatic synchronization between the production system and the digital twin, or between the digital twin and other Ovation control systems. According to Emerson, before deployment, a simulation snapshot impact analysis tool details the disruptions the change will cause to the target system and suggests solutions.
Through a repository system, the curation tool moves data between production systems and simulators while keeping the data synchronized. Emerson states that multiple users can edit the same asset and merge their changes.
