en.Wedoany.com Reported - Visy Logistics has entered into a new national linehaul transport agreement with Coopers Brewery, which is expected to reduce annual truck trips by 6%.
As the exclusive linehaul transport provider under the agreement, Visy Logistics will be responsible for transporting Coopers Brewery's products from Adelaide to key markets across Australia.
The contract involves over 2,000 interstate freight movements annually. The reduction in trips is attributed to new asset investments, optimized scheduling processes, and a differentiated transport model for Western Australia.
Visy Logistics President Wayne Boxshall stated that this collaboration creates a win-win opportunity for both parties. He noted that Visy Logistics is delighted to partner with an Australian company known for its outstanding quality, family values, and generations of experience. By finding a transport method that meets Coopers' national distribution network using fewer trucks, Visy Logistics reduces the number of trucks on the road, driving future growth while saving costs for this iconic Australian brand.
To this end, Visy Logistics has invested in 32 new assets, including prime movers and B-double trailer combinations, and added 17 new positions in South Australia, covering experienced linehaul drivers, administrative, and supervisory roles.
The national linehaul solution includes: modern trailer configurations to ensure round-the-clock product quality; enhanced safety technologies such as rollover stability systems, guardian visual monitoring systems, and retractable trailer ladders; increased payload capacity by replacing standard 34-pallet trailer configurations with 36-pallet setups, boosting product volume per trip by 6% and thus reducing the number of trips required; use of Euro 6 emission standard prime movers, which reduce fuel consumption by 5% compared to the previous Euro 5 vehicles; and rail and coastal shipping services for transport to and from Western Australia, lowering emissions by reducing the number of trucks and travel distances.
Coopers Brewery Managing Director Michael Shearer said the contract will help meet the growing market demand for the brewery's products. He noted that Coopers beer continues to see rising sales across Australia, and partnering with Visy Logistics will ensure efficient and reliable delivery to bottle shops, pubs, clubs, and end consumers nationwide.
