en.Wedoany.com Reported - Metso has renewed a long-term supply agreement with a major mining company in South America to provide MX wear parts for Nordberg MP1250 crushers. The three-year contract, with an annual turnover of approximately €10 million (about $11.5 million), is one of the largest orders for Metso's global crusher spare parts division.
The renewal is based on previous joint technical development and continuous improvement efforts, which have introduced new solutions aimed at optimizing equipment performance, extending component service life, and promoting safer and more efficient operations on site.
Under the agreement, Metso will supply spare parts for the customer's existing crushing equipment and maintain dedicated on-site inventory to ensure spare parts availability matches operational consumption rates, while also providing professional technical support, including on-site engineering personnel and continuous monitoring of crusher performance and liner usage.
Emilio Lamas, Vice President of Metso's Crusher Wear Parts in South America, stated that in this long-term collaboration, the company combines advanced wear technology, close cooperation, on-site presence, and deep application experience to help customers achieve consistent performance, reliability, and safety in their operations.
Metso's MX wear parts solution is part of the Metso Plus product portfolio. In 2024, the company expanded its MX products for large cone crushers, providing solutions for Nordberg HP Series and MP Series applications. The technology is said to help maintain optimal wear profiles for longer periods, improve liner utilization, and extend service life by up to double in secondary crushing applications, thereby reducing maintenance downtime and operational risks associated with liner replacement.
Metso stated that the agreement solidifies its position as an original equipment partner for high-performance wear solutions and supports the mining company's ongoing efforts to enhance productivity, safety, and operational efficiency at its South American mines.
