Uzbekistan Allied Biofuels Company Signs Central Asia's First SAF Design Contract with Sinopec

en.Wedoany.com Reported - During the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum, Sinopec Refining & Chemical Engineering Group's Ningbo Engineering Company officially signed a front-end engineering design and detailed design contract with Uzbekistan's Allied Biofuels FE LLC for the country's Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) project.

This signing expands Sinopec's refining and chemical engineering segment's service scope in overseas low-carbon new energy fields, deepens its green energy cooperation layout along the "Belt and Road" countries, and enhances its brand influence in the international clean energy engineering sector.

This project is Central Asia's first large-scale full-chain bio-aviation fuel complex, integrating biomass feedstock processing, green hydrogen production, sustainable aviation fuel, electro-synthetic aviation fuel (e-SAF), and green diesel production.

The project is equipped with large-scale photovoltaic, green hydrogen, and energy storage facilities, with electricity supply primarily from photovoltaics and main feedstocks including sorghum, rice husks, and straw. The planned production capacity is approximately 160,000 tons of biomass SAF, 250,000 tons of e-SAF, and 5,000 tons of green diesel. The products will meet the aviation industry demand in Central Asia and radiate to the Middle East and European markets, with significant carbon reduction benefits.

Sinopec will leverage this cooperation as an opportunity to fully utilize its resource integration and core technology advantages, jointly build a regional green fuel industry benchmark with the project owner, help enhance Uzbekistan's aviation hub status in Central Asia, and support the clean energy transition in the region.
