en.Wedoany.com Reported - Garbe Industrial has officially confirmed a lease agreement with Alstom in Germany. In Salzgitter, Lower Saxony, the railway equipment manufacturer has rented the entire 31,200 square meters of a newly built logistics building. The site includes a warehouse area of 27,700 square meters, approximately 1,900 square meters of mezzanine space, and 1,600 square meters of office and employee facilities; it also features 29 loading docks and 12 ground-level sectional doors. Nine sectional doors at the rear of the building support side-loading trucks, making them more suitable for transporting larger railway components.

Garbe Industrial has invested approximately 40 million euros in this new project, which is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2026. The German logistics and industrial real estate developer, investor, and operator acquired a 51,000-square-meter industrial brownfield site from Alstom four years ago. The site, formerly a munitions factory, required extensive remediation work before construction, including the removal of unexploded ordnance and other contaminated materials.

Alstom employs approximately 2,000 people in Salzgitter and will use the new warehouse to store and distribute spare parts and new components for locomotives and trains within its sprawling engineering and production complex covering 1.3 square kilometers.
