en.Wedoany.com Reported - Tilt Renewables has commenced construction of the Palmer wind farm, located 70 kilometers east of Adelaide in South Australia, with an installed capacity of 288MW.

The wind farm is expected to take approximately two years to build and will generate up to 288MW of renewable energy, enough to power around 142,000 households. Tilt Renewables CEO Anthony Fowler stated that the project's commencement, after more than a decade of planning, consultation, and design optimization, marks a significant milestone. During this period, the company reduced the number of turbines from 103 to 40 while maintaining similar power output, aiming to minimize environmental and community impacts.

Fowler noted that Tilt Renewables collaborated with local councils, landowners, and neighboring properties throughout the planning process. Neighbors, the local community, and Indigenous peoples will receive over AUD 13 million in benefits over the project's lifecycle. Initial construction focuses on site preparation, including access roads, internal road networks, and site offices. The company has committed to minimizing noise and traffic impacts during construction and encourages community members to join the Community Consultative Committee.

Tilt Renewables will host monthly community open days during construction, with the next event scheduled for July 29 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Palmer Collier Park Hall and from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Tungkillo Soldiers Memorial Hall.
