en.Wedoany.com Reported - At 20:45 on July 7, the load on the Neijiang power grid reached 1.672 million kW. The State Grid Neijiang Power Supply Company's Power Dispatch and Control Center coordinated the 110 kV Dinghe Energy Storage Station to discharge at full power to the main grid, supporting the evening peak electricity demand.

This marks the first time during the summer peak season that the station has provided peak shaving output during Neijiang's evening peak hours, with a maximum discharge power of nearly 100,000 kVA, sufficient to simultaneously meet the operational needs of nearly 30,000 1.5-horsepower air conditioners.

The Dinghe Station, formerly the Neijiang Economic Development Zone 100MW/200MWh Vanadium-Lithium Energy Storage Station, is the first grid-side energy storage station in the Neijiang area and a key component of the "Sichuan-Chongqing Energy Integration Emergency Peak Shaving Base." Officially commissioned in December 2025, it connects to the Neijiang power grid via the 220 kV Shouxiqiao Substation, with its energy storage equipment precisely adaptable to grid-side peak shaving and emergency response scenarios.

Previously, the station selected cost-effective time periods for charging and discharging based on trading conditions in the Sichuan electricity market. Following a sharp rise in temperatures this week, under the coordination of the State Grid Sichuan Electric Power Company's Power Dispatch and Control Center, the Dinghe Station precisely tracked Neijiang's power grid load fluctuations, charging during low-demand periods and rapidly delivering stored electricity to the Neijiang main grid during peak hours.

Historical electricity usage data shows that Neijiang's evening peak hours typically occur between 20:30 and 22:00, with the peak load around 21:00. At 20:47 on July 7, the Neijiang power grid reached its daily peak load of 1.76 million kW, after which the load gradually decreased. Data from the Neijiang Power Load Management Center indicates that the maximum load from residential customers that evening was 1.196 million kW, while commercial loads reached 128,000 kW.

In recent years, Neijiang's local economy has shown strong growth momentum, with power grid loads repeatedly hitting new highs. Entering the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, the Neijiang Municipal Party Committee and Government have explicitly proposed developing and strengthening the four major advantageous industries—"Shale Gas+," "Vanadium-Titanium+," "Equipment+," and "Sweet Flavor+"—while vigorously advancing the sodium battery industry, placing higher demands on a robust power grid. The addition of grid-side energy storage stations provides infrastructure support for optimizing Neijiang's energy structure and ensuring power supply, effectively enhancing the grid's peak shaving capacity and injecting green momentum into regional energy transition and high-quality industrial development.
