en.Wedoany.com Reported - Danish shipping company DFDS reported its freight data for June, with total freight volume reaching 3.5 million lane meters, a 3.3% increase compared to June 2025.

The growth was primarily driven by higher freight volumes on most North Sea routes, which benefited from a positive contrast to the nationwide strike in Sweden in June 2025. Mediterranean routes saw an overall decline in freight volume due to reduced capacity on some routes, although the company noted continued growth on its Egypt and Tunisia routes. Freight volume on the English Channel was slightly lower than last year, while both the Baltic Sea and the Strait of Gibraltar recorded higher volumes.

Over the past 12 months, total freight lane meters increased by 0.8% from 41.5 million in the 2025-24 period to 41.9 million. However, after adjusting for route changes, total freight volume decreased by 0.4%.

In contrast, passenger volume in June fell by 8% compared to June 2025 to 413,000 passengers. DFDS attributed this to reduced sailings and lower passenger numbers on the Strait of Gibraltar and Dover Strait routes. Over the past 12 months, total passenger volume dropped by 17.7% from 6.1 million in the 2025-24 period to 5 million. After adjusting for route changes, passenger volume declined by 5.3%.
