en.Wedoany.com Reported - SATA Air Açores has expressed satisfaction with the first month of operations on its new route connecting Terceira Island in the Azores with Madeira, achieving an average load factor of approximately 80%. João Ferreira, head of international markets at the SATA Group, told Lusa News Agency that while the route is still in its early operational phase, the June performance has already been very encouraging.

Ferreira added that figures for July and August are already very promising. He noted that demand comes from three types of passengers: Madeira residents visiting the Azores for sightseeing, Azores residents traveling to Madeira, and foreign tourists using the route to explore both archipelagos in a single trip.
When asked about the winter route performance, Ferreira acknowledged that demand typically declines during that season but expressed confidence in the operational outlook. He stated that the potential is very real, especially during holidays and school breaks.
Until October, SATA will operate two weekly round-trip flights between Terceira and Madeira (Tuesdays and Fridays). During the winter season, the route will be reduced to one weekly flight: departing from Terceira to Madeira on Thursdays, with the return flight on Fridays.
