en.Wedoany.com Reported - Carnival Cruise Line held a steel-cutting ceremony for its newest cruise ship, "Carnival Destiny," at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, officially commencing construction. The vessel is scheduled for delivery in the summer of 2029 and is the first of three next-generation Ace Class cruise ships.

Carnival's partnership with Fincantieri dates back more than 30 years, when the first Carnival Destiny ushered in a new era as the world's largest cruise ship. The newly named Ace Class ships are designed to redefine the guest experience and will be the most outward-facing mega cruise ships at sea. The vessel will feature an unprecedented number of ocean-view balcony cabins, a redesigned outdoor lanai deck, and over 4.5 acres of glass, including expansive multi-story glass walls, aimed at bringing the sea views into more areas of the ship.

According to reports, over 70% of the venues and attractions on Carnival Destiny will be new concepts, encompassing redesigned dining, next-generation bars and lounges, immersive entertainment, and outdoor spaces. The ship will sail to destinations in the Paradise Collection by Carnival, which is considered the largest portfolio of exclusive destinations in the Caribbean, Bahamas, and Mexico within the cruise industry.
Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line, stated that Carnival Destiny is designed to reimagine the guest experience at sea, creating a ship that is more expansive and makes guests feel more connected. Further details about the ship's features and experiences will be announced later this year. The other two Ace Class ships are scheduled for delivery in 2031 and 2033, respectively.
