en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 12, 2026, the Narva Hydropower Plant (Narvskaya GES, with an installed capacity of 124.8 MW), owned by TGC-1 (PJSC TGC-1), was included in the list of qualified renewable energy generation facilities. This plant is the 11th hydropower station of the company to receive this status.

The Center for Energy Certification (OOO "Center for Energy Certification") has issued a certification conclusion for the plant. To qualify for certification, the Narva Hydropower Plant had to demonstrate that it generates electricity entirely from the renewable energy source of water flow and is equipped with a generation metering system compliant with federal legislation. Following its inclusion in the list, the plant can issue generation attribute certificates and "green" certificates for the electricity it produces and sell them on the market.
Alfred Yagafarov, Deputy General Director for Electricity and Capacity Sales at TGC-1, stated that with the addition of the Narva Hydropower Plant, the company's qualified hydropower plants have an average annual "green" electricity generation of approximately 5 billion kWh. This scale is intended to meet the growing demand from buyers for greening their production and operations, and to further contribute to the decarbonization of the regional energy system.
Currently, Russia is promoting the low-carbon transformation of its power industry. As a tool for companies to fulfill emission reduction commitments and enhance their environmental image, the market demand for green electricity certificates is gradually increasing. TGC-1 stated that it will continue to promote other hydropower facilities under its umbrella to obtain renewable energy qualification certification.
