en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 11, the People's Government of Guangdong Province and China's JD.com signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement. On the same day, JD Property's RoboBase project, under JD.com, broke ground in Guangzhou's Huangpu Science City. This project marks JD.com's first RoboBase project globally, aiming to build a robot industry infrastructure covering R&D, manufacturing, pilot testing, application, and industrial services.

Located in the core area of Guangzhou's Huangpu Science City, the RoboBase Industrial Park covers a total floor area of approximately 190,000 square meters. The park plans to develop green ecological zones, R&D centers, and standalone headquarters buildings, featuring functions such as R&D and design, production and manufacturing, pilot testing and results transformation, corporate headquarters, product exhibition, and production support. It provides centralized space for robot integrators, core component suppliers, algorithm companies, and industrial service providers.

According to the construction plan, the project is expected to be fully completed by the end of 2028, commence production in 2029, and reach planned operational levels by 2030, with an estimated annual output value of approximately 1.75 billion yuan. Driven by industrial scenario applications, the project will connect robot R&D, procurement, production, sales, transportation, warehousing, and financing, shortening the distance for robot companies from technology development and pilot testing to batch application.

JD Property positions RoboBase as a full-lifecycle industrial infrastructure for robots, with direct robot production not being its primary business. The park will provide tenant companies with factory and R&D spaces, smart park operations and maintenance, industrial policy alignment, supply chain coordination, product sales, and financing services, enabling robot companies to complete R&D, pilot testing, product exhibition, and market matching within a single facility.

In terms of technology and scenario resources, China's JD.com plans to open its JoyInside large model capabilities and data collection resources to industry chain companies, and utilize existing business scenarios such as JD MALL, logistics parks, and health pharmacies for robot testing and application validation. These scenarios can cover tasks including warehouse handling, park patrol, commercial navigation, home services, and health services, accumulating real-world operational data for robot products and testing their continuous operation capabilities.

The groundbreaking event also advanced talent cultivation in embodied intelligence. Ten vocational colleges in Guangdong Province signed industry-education integration order-class cooperation agreements with JD.com, planning to cultivate technical and skilled talent in embodied intelligence and modern service consumption fields, supplementing personnel for the park's subsequent R&D, pilot testing, manufacturing, and operations.

Guangzhou's Huangpu District has already gathered 57 key companies in the robot industry chain, covering components and software algorithms, robot body manufacturing, and downstream application services. The area is also building an unmanned and embodied intelligence data collection and training ground covering over 1,000 square meters, and has released a catalog of robot application scenarios and innovative products. Once operational, RoboBase will complement existing local robot companies, testing and certification institutions, and scenario resources.
