Attendees included Huang Qiang, Secretary of the Jilin Provincial Party Committee; Hu Yuting, Governor of Jilin Province; Zhu Guoxian, Chairman of the Jilin Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC); Guo Shougang, Deputy Director of the First Equipment Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Chen Guodong, Director of the Publicity Work Bureau of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council; Xu Niansha, President of the China Machinery Industry Federation; Fu Bingfeng, Executive Vice President of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers; Qiu Xiandong, Chairman of China FAW Group; Yang Qing, Chairman of Dongfeng Motor Corporation; Zhu Huarong, Chairman of Changan Automobile; Feng Xingya, Chairman of Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC); Zhu Jiangming, Founder of Leapmotor; and Xu Ping, former leader of FAW. The event was presided over by Liang Guiyou, Deputy Secretary of the FAW Party Committee.

Participants jointly watched video messages from FAW's former leaders and pioneers, as well as the documentary "Seventy Years of Automotive Glory, Surging Eastward."

In his speech, Guo Shougang, Deputy Director and First-Level Inspector of the First Equipment Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, China's automotive industry has achieved a significant leap in innovation capability and leads the global market in scale. He noted that the next step will involve strengthening departmental coordination, improving support policies, enhancing planning guidance, supporting technological breakthroughs, optimizing the development environment, and deepening open cooperation to make new and greater contributions to building a modern socialist country in all respects and achieving the second centenary goal.

In his speech, Chen Guodong, Director of the Publicity Work Bureau of the SASAC of the State Council, stated that this commemorative event should serve as a new prologue. He emphasized firmly implementing the important instructions and directives of General Secretary Xi Jinping regarding the work of central enterprises and the automotive industry, accelerating the construction of a modern automotive industry system, fulfilling three major responsibilities, providing three services, playing three roles, and striving to be three pacesetters, thereby contributing to the building of an automotive powerhouse.

Zhang Enhui, Member of the Standing Committee of the Jilin Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Changchun Municipal Party Committee, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, extended a warm welcome to all leaders and guests and paid high tribute to all pioneers, builders, and strivers who contributed to the development of New China's automotive industry. He expressed the hope that, taking the 70th anniversary as a new starting point, efforts would be made to promote collaborative innovation among government, industry, academia, and research, accelerate the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements, and drive the automotive industry towards intelligent, green, and integrated development. The Provincial Party Committee, Provincial Government, Municipal Party Committee, and Municipal Government will continue to support the accelerated development of automotive enterprises and assist FAW in riding the tide and achieving new successes for the national brand.

In his keynote speech, Fu Bingfeng, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, stated that FAW is the cradle of the automotive industry and the eldest son of the Republic's automotive industry. It has cultivated a large number of talents, supplied products and technologies, and made significant contributions to the country. Over the past 70 years, industry enterprises have collectively composed an extraordinary chapter of the times. The "15th Five-Year Plan" period will be a decisive window for high-quality development of the automotive industry. He called for taking this event as a new starting point, inheriting and carrying forward the spirit of the older generation of automotive workers, and jointly writing a new chapter in the high-quality development of the automotive industry.

Key leaders from several major Chinese automakers, including FAW Chairman Qiu Xiandong, Dongfeng Motor Chairman Yang Qing, Changan Automobile Chairman Zhu Huarong, GAC Chairman Feng Xingya, and Leapmotor Founder Zhu Jiangming, delivered speeches either in person or via video. On behalf of FAW, Qiu Xiandong paid tribute to the first generation of entrepreneurs in New China's automotive industry and generations of automotive workers. He stated that 70 years ago, FAW workers successfully rolled out New China's first automobile, establishing the Jiefang national brand and ending China's history of being unable to manufacture automobiles. Over the past 70 years, generations of automotive workers have driven tremendous changes in China's automotive industry. In the new era, China's automotive industry has implemented the strategic deployments of the Party Central Committee, achieving historic leaps. Qiu Xiandong emphasized that during its long-term development, China's automotive industry has formed a development strategy centered on adhering to Party leadership, leading with science and technology, reform and opening up, talent as the foundation, and giving back to society. It has tempered an entrepreneurial spirit characterized by serving the country through industry, independent development, open cooperation, courageous pioneering, continuous improvement, and unity and collaboration. He called on all Chinese automotive workers to remain steadfast in their mission, demonstrate new responsibility in serving the overall situation, achieve new leaps through innovation-driven development, and create new brilliance through continued struggle. He urged all Chinese automotive workers to closely unite around the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core and create new glories on the journey to building a modern socialist country in all respects.

During the event, the launch ceremony of "Converging Sparks, Illuminating the Journey" was also held. Twenty-one attending guests inserted "energy sticks" symbolizing the "industrial spark" into the launch platform, jointly embarking on a new journey towards an automotive powerhouse.
