en.Wedoany.com Reported - Operations Director Matheus Freitas recently provided an update on the latest developments following the business split of Hirsa. Hirsa underwent a major transformation in early 2026, with its service division being integrated into Trescal, a global leader in metrology services, while the product division was spun off as an independent entity under the new brand HM Flow. The new company HM Flow is now focusing its efforts on promoting an updated product portfolio to the market, with the core highlight being a new generation of thermoelectric generators. These devices are specifically designed for harsh environments and can provide continuous, reliable power unaffected by weather or day-night cycles.

Freitas stated that the beginning of the year was primarily dedicated to the integration of the new company, with a heavy workload in administrative areas involving the reorganization of customer registrations, contract transfers, and market communication. After largely completing these migration tasks, HM Flow shifted its focus to market promotion. The thermoelectric generator, developed by Global Power Technologies in Alberta, Canada, utilizes the thermoelectric effect to convert heat from natural gas in pipelines into electrical energy. With no moving parts, it is suitable for remote areas, and the system is self-powered by the natural gas in the pipeline, eliminating the need for complex infrastructure or frequent fuel replenishment.

Regarding the background of the business split, Freitas explained that Hirsa had two independent departments: product equipment sales and services. The company had long intended to separate them, and the process accelerated upon receiving an offer from the Trescal group to acquire the service department. The product business, along with the technical team, contracts, and related assets, was fully spun off to establish HM Flow. HM Flow now carries out the work of the former Hirsa product division, retaining the contracts, customer portfolio, and all technical personnel, allowing the company to refocus on the equipment sector while entering the market with a solid legacy.

Currently, HM Flow has achieved break-even and is participating in negotiations for major market projects, including demands from Petrobras and large-scale projects managed by EPC companies. The company has submitted proposals for projects in the Boaventura Energy Complex and other areas with concentrated oil and gas investments. In the supply of measurement technology and equipment for both onshore and offshore applications, HM Flow remains well-positioned, serving the industry chain from upstream to downstream. Products like the new thermoelectric generator have expanded its competitiveness in new construction projects and the replacement market. Freitas expects to meet or significantly exceed the annual targets set for the equipment sector.

Regarding the Hirsa service division that was incorporated into the Trescal group, Freitas stated that this has significantly expanded operational capabilities. Trescal is one of the world's largest groups in calibration, testing, maintenance, and metrology management, holding a leading position in the Brazilian market. Previously, customers could only procure metrology management services from Hirsa; now, they can access more solutions within the same group without managing multiple suppliers, resulting in improved efficiency and coverage, thereby enhancing the value proposition and competitiveness.
