en.Wedoany.com Reported - The station portion of Dunhuang's first grid-side independent energy storage project—the Dunhuang Guosheng Nandu 200MW/800MWh Independent Energy Storage Demonstration Project—has been fully completed. Located in the Dunhuang Photovoltaic Industrial Park, the project has a total investment of 760 million yuan. The DC side of the system comprises 160 5MWh energy storage battery containers, with the core component equipped with Nandu Power's self-developed 314Ah lithium battery.

The project area is characterized by frequent sandstorms and large temperature differences between day and night, imposing high requirements on the adaptability and stability of the energy storage system. Nandu's 5MWh+ liquid-cooled energy storage system features key components and PACK IP67 protection ratings, along with multiple safety protection designs, effectively preventing dust ingress and ensuring safe and reliable system operation. The system's intelligent liquid-cooling temperature control technology, through a multi-stage variable-diameter liquid-cooling pipeline design, can control the temperature difference within the module to within 3 degrees Celsius.

Once the station is completed and put into operation, it will effectively address the shortcomings of the grid's peak-shaving capacity, enhance the local grid's peak-shaving and safe and stable operation levels, and support the efficient consumption of new energy in Dunhuang as well as the upgrading and improvement of the green energy industry. As the scale of energy storage continues to expand, Dunhuang is expected to transform from a "wind and solar powerhouse" into a demonstration base for "wind, solar, hydrogen, and storage," providing replicable experience for the high-quality development of new energy in Northwest China and the entire country.
