en.Wedoany.com Reported - Chinese electric commercial van brand Cavan has launched its first model, the C1, in the Australian market, primarily targeting competitors such as the Ford E-Transit Custom, Farizon Supervan, and LDV eDeliver 7. As a sub-brand of Foton, Cavan is distributed in Australia by a different company, utilizing an independent dealer and service network, while Foton's distributor in Australia is Inchcape.

The Cavan C1 is available in three variants at launch, each differing in wheelbase and height, with promotional pricing applied across all trim levels.

2027 Cavan C1

All variants of the C1 are powered by a front-mounted single electric motor delivering 125kW of power and 210Nm of torque, with a top speed of 120km/h. The entry-level C1 is powered by a 50.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack supplied by CATL, offering a range of up to 270km under the lenient WLTC test cycle. Both the C1 Plus and C1 Max are equipped with a larger 66.7kWh lithium-ion battery pack from CATL, providing ranges of up to 325km and 333km, respectively, under the lenient WLTC test cycle.

2027 Cavan C1

The entry-level C1 measures 4885mm in length, 1810mm in width, and 1960mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3100mm, a cargo volume of 6.6 cubic meters, and a payload capacity of 1000kg. The C1 Plus is 5185mm long, 300mm longer than the entry-level variant, with a wheelbase of 3400mm, a cargo volume of 7.4 cubic meters, and a payload capacity of 1200kg. The top-spec C1 Max shares the same length as the C1 Plus but features a roof height increased by 200mm, resulting in a total vehicle height of 2160mm, a cargo volume of 8.4 cubic meters, and a payload capacity of 1200kg.

All variants of the C1 come with a three-seat bench, dual sliding side doors, and rear split doors. Vehicle features include LED headlights, 16-inch wheels with hubcaps, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.8-inch touchscreen multimedia system, automatic climate control, interior and exterior V2L power outlets, and a heated driver's seat. In terms of safety, the vehicle is equipped with dual airbags, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and a 360-degree camera system.

2027 Cavan C1

Cavan Australia offers differentiated warranty periods based on component type: 3 years or 100,000km for the body and chassis, 5 years or 200,000km for the motor and controller, and 8 years or 400,000km for the high-voltage battery. Additionally, the vehicle comes with free scheduled maintenance for 3 years or 100,000km, and 3 years of complimentary roadside assistance. Currently, Cavan has only one dealership in Australia, located in Mitcham, eastern Melbourne.
