en.Wedoany.com Reported - Gabonese President Oligui Nguema inspected the Oyem Road Rehabilitation Project undertaken by CCCC on site, gaining a detailed understanding of the project's progress. President Nguema affirmed the project's construction progress and quality, while commending the Chinese team's refined management level and efficient performance capability, and expressing gratitude for the project team's contributions to the implementation. Upon learning that the project team overcame challenges such as material supply and climate conditions to complete the Woleu River Bridge construction 10 months ahead of the original schedule, President Nguema said to those present, "This is China's strength, China's speed." He noted that the Oyem Road Rehabilitation Project is of great significance for improving regional transportation and driving local development, urging relevant departments to collaborate closely to ensure smooth construction. He encouraged the project team to continue prioritizing quality, safety, and schedule, and expressed anticipation for deepening cooperation with CCCC in areas such as infrastructure construction.
Located in the capital of Woleu-Ntem Province, a northern town in Gabon, the Oyem Road Rehabilitation Project is a key livelihood project of concern to the Gabonese government and the president. The project mainly includes the rehabilitation of 68 kilometers of roads and the construction of a 90-meter steel-concrete composite girder bridge. This corridor is a vital route connecting Gabon and Equatorial Guinea and a key link in the integration of the Central African subregion. Upon completion, the project will improve the living conditions of residents along the route and facilitate the movement of people and goods among Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and Cameroon.
Currently, the earthwork of the project is largely complete, and 36 kilometers of pavement work have been finished, with the overall progress advancing steadily as planned.
