Saudi Arabia Launches Prequalification for King Fahd Suburb Boulevard Project Spanning One Million Square Meters

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Municipal and Housing Affairs (MOMAH), in collaboration with the National Center for Privatization and Public-Private Partnership (NCP) and Ashraq Development Company, the municipal development agency of the Eastern Province, has launched the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) phase for the King Fahd Suburb Boulevard Project.

Located in the Al Bayda Governorate of the Eastern Province, the project covers approximately one million square meters and will be implemented in two development phases.

The project will be delivered under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, with a contract structured as Design, Build, Finance, Operate, Maintain, and Transfer (DBFOMT) over a total term of 43 years. Under the proposed PPP arrangement, the private partner will be responsible for the design, development, financing, construction, operation, and maintenance of an integrated multi-purpose urban destination, with the project handed over at the end of the concession period.

The scope of works includes a 4-kilometer integrated multi-purpose district extending along a central boulevard and linear park, situated within a 7.3-kilometer overall corridor; the master plan will provide a balanced allocation of development plots, green spaces, and supporting infrastructure.

The project scope also encompasses leisure and entertainment facilities, public parks, recreational venues, retail outlets, office spaces, and a road network, creating vibrant urban public spaces for residents and visitors of the Eastern Province.

The project is expected to drive the urban regeneration of the King Fahd Suburb in Dammam, while also offering opportunities for the private sector to enter Saudi Arabia's municipal infrastructure and urban development sectors. The project aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in enhancing quality of life, promoting sustainable urban development, and expanding private sector investment and participation in infrastructure projects.
