Construction of the Bogor Raya 1 Waste-to-Energy Project in Indonesia Begins, with a Total Investment of 2.8 Trillion Indonesian Rupiah

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 17, Danantara Indonesia, through PT Danantara Investment Management and PT Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara, launched the construction of the Bogor Raya 1 waste-to-energy project. The project is located in Galuga Village, Cibungbulang District, Bogor Regency, West Java Province, with a total investment of 2.8 trillion Indonesian rupiah, a designed waste processing capacity of 1,500 tons/day, and is scheduled to commence operation in mid-2028.

The project is developed and operated by Nusantara Bogor New Energy, with Zhejiang Weiming Environment Protection as the technical partner. Bogor Raya 1 has been included in Indonesia's National Strategic Project, and the project construction is being advanced in accordance with Presidential Regulation No. 109/2025.

The project adopts moving grate incineration technology and is equipped with a multi-stage air pollution control system. The engineering plan announced by Danantara is designed in accordance with the relevant standards of the EU Industrial Emissions Directive, and once completed, it will be able to process more than 500,000 tons of municipal solid waste per year.

On the day the project broke ground, Nusantara Bogor New Energy signed a power purchase agreement with Indonesia's state electricity company PLN. In accordance with Presidential Regulation No. 109/2025, the electricity purchase price for PSEL waste-to-energy projects is uniformly set at 0.20 USD/kWh, and the electricity generated by the project will be fed into PLN's grid.

The project land is currently held by the Indonesian Army, which has signed a land use cooperation agreement with the Bogor Regency Government, and land transfer procedures will be handled subsequently. Bogor Raya 1 is one of Danantara's first batch of waste-to-energy projects and is also the third PSEL project to enter the construction phase, following the Denpasar Raya and Bekasi City projects.

Danantara is also preparing the Bogor Raya 2 waste-to-energy project at the same time, with a site located in the Kayumanis area of Bogor City, planned to process municipal solid waste from Bogor City and Depok City. Danantara currently plans to advance PSEL projects in 17 locations across Indonesia, covering 33 regencies and cities.
