German BYK Acquires Radar Measurement Equipment Company perisens

Headquartered in Feldkirchen near Munich, perisens specializes in the development and production of measurement and testing equipment for automotive radar sensors and radomes. These systems are used for quality assurance of painted plastic components in vehicles equipped with autonomous driving radar sensors, ensuring that the coating system does not excessively attenuate radar signals and does not impair radar functionality.

Founded in 2009 as a spin-off from the Technical University of Munich, perisens will enable ALTANA's BYK division to strategically expand its measurement and testing instrument portfolio by introducing innovative technologies in the radar measurement field. perisens will be integrated into BYK-Gardner, located in Geretsried, Bavaria.

perisens' Radom Measurement Systems include the RMS-C and RMS-D product series, offering solutions from research and development to quality control in mass production. Since 2014, these systems have been adopted by leading global automotive manufacturers, radar sensor suppliers, plastic component suppliers, and coatings and pigments manufacturers.

perisens' patented technology is applicable both in laboratory measurement instruments and in robot-controlled integrated measurement units on production lines. The company's products enable precise process control for painted plastic automotive components. As part of the acquisition, perisens employees will transfer to BYK.
