en.Wedoany.com Reported - Shikun and Binui Energy has commenced regular operations at a 104 MW solar photovoltaic plant in northwestern Romania, marking the company's second solar facility to enter commercial operation in the country.

Located in Șimleu Silvaniei, Sălaj County, the solar plant has a peak installed capacity of 104 MW. The commissioning brings the Israeli company's total installed capacity in Romania to 175 MW. Meanwhile, the company is developing power generation projects with a total capacity of 1.16 GW and energy storage projects totaling 730 MWh.
Previously, Shikun and Binui Energy's first solar plant built in Romania was located in Satu Mare County. Both plants were contracted by CJR Renewables. The Raiffeisen Group approved a €49 million loan for the Șimleu Silvaniei project two years ago.
Shikun and Binui Energy's operations cover the development, construction, operation, and maintenance of renewable energy facilities, including solar thermal systems, pumped storage hydropower, battery energy storage, and agrivoltaics. Its parent company, Shikun and Binui, primarily operates in the infrastructure and real estate sectors and entered the Romanian market two decades ago.
CJR Renewables, the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor for the Iepurești solar plant, stated a month ago that the facility had been connected to the grid for testing. The Iepurești solar plant has an installed capacity of 169 MW and is located in Giurgiu County, southwest of the capital Bucharest.
