en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Government of La Rioja has launched a subsidy plan totaling €500,000, aimed at helping local entities with populations of no more than 20,000 residents to expand and improve electrical infrastructure, install electric vehicle charging stations, and develop self-consumption renewable energy projects.
This subsidy plan, published in the Official Gazette of La Rioja, adopts a competitive application mechanism and aims to support municipal actions related to energy savings, reducing non-renewable energy consumption, and local decarbonization.

This subsidy covers three types of eligible actions. The first category involves the construction of new self-consumption renewable energy facilities, including technologies such as solar photovoltaic, wind, solar thermal, biomass, biogas, or air-source heat pumps. The second category relates to improvements in power supply infrastructure associated with energy transition facilities. The third category is the deployment of electric vehicle charging stations.
The plan follows the energy saving and decarbonization targets set out in EU Directives 2018/844 and 2023/1791, and is aligned with the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan and the La Rioja Energy and Climate Plan.
Subsidy intensity varies according to the size of the municipality. In towns with fewer than 1,000 residents, the subsidy can cover up to 90% of the eligible investment; in towns with more than 1,000 residents, the subsidy rate is 85%. The maximum total subsidy per local entity shall not exceed €40,000. Applicants must submit a separate application form for each technology for which funding is sought.
The application period begins on July 4 and lasts for two months. Relevant documents must be submitted through the electronic office of the Government of La Rioja.
