Led by a core team of 19 Party members, the group has achieved self-sufficiency and control in three key areas: material formulation, process parameters, and production equipment. This has successfully enabled the stable mass production of 30-micron ultra-thin flexible glass, which is now used in foldable screen phones, helping to reduce China's display industry's reliance on imported technology.
The Party Branch has established several sub-teams focusing on material R&D, process development, and equipment modification. In the material sector, the team started with molecular structure design and material system optimization. After over a hundred experimental plan adjustments and tens of thousands of data validations, they developed multiple proprietary material formulations with performance surpassing traditional imported products. During process development, the team built an independent and controllable precision process system targeting the bending lifespan and display quality of foldable screen phones, overcoming more than 60 process challenges. During the closed testing phase, daily glass testing volume exceeded 3,000 pieces, with the initial yield rate dropping to 0%.
In the equipment sector, the team independently modified production equipment under conditions lacking mature processes, supporting equipment, and standard specifications. They resolved over 20 equipment challenges and built the only full-industry-chain production line in China covering "high-strength glass—ultra-thin thinning—high-precision post-processing." The team has simultaneously filed patents for processes and materials, steadily constructing a competitive intellectual property barrier.
The team has been awarded the "National Outstanding Engineer Team" by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, as well as the "Youth Civilization Award" by the Central Enterprise Youth Work Committee.
