en.Wedoany.com Reported - Croatian shipping company Jadrolinija held a ceremony at the Gazenica passenger port to officially inaugurate an international high-speed ferry route connecting Zadar, Croatia, with Ancona, Italy. The route is operated by the catamaran "Jelena," under the command of Captain Nikica Grubisic.

This new route represents Jadrolinija's biggest advancement in international transport for the current tourist season, marking a significant step in the company's international business development and helping to further strengthen transport, tourism, and economic ties between Croatia and Italy.
Attending the inauguration ceremony were Zadar County Prefect Josip Bilaver, Zadar Mayor Sime Erlic, representatives of the local tourist board, media, and members of Jadrolinija's board of directors.
Jadrolinija General Manager Robert Blazinovic stated that the company's goal is to become a modern European shipping company that meets the needs of the market and passengers, continuously developing new domestic and international routes. He noted that the new Zadar-Ancona international high-speed ferry route is the highlight of Jadrolinija's international transport this season and is currently the fastest maritime connection between Croatia and Italy.
Prefect Bilaver emphasized that the new route helps improve the accessibility and visibility of Zadar County, strengthening the region's international connectivity.
The route will operate until August 30, with five sailings per week. The journey between Zadar and Ancona takes 4 hours. The catamaran "Jelena," built in 2018, can carry 400 passengers.
