en.Wedoany.com Reported - Dimension News, July 20 – Philippine Airlines confirmed an order for 15 Boeing 787-10 passenger aircraft on the opening day of the Farnborough International Airshow, with purchase rights for an additional five widebody aircraft. According to estimates from aviation consultancy IBA Group, if the airline purchases all 20 widebody aircraft, the deal is valued at approximately $3.4 billion based on discounted prices. This marks the airline's first direct aircraft purchase from Boeing in nearly two decades.

Sources familiar with the order said these widebody aircraft will be equipped with GE Aerospace's GEnx-1 engines, with deliveries expected to begin in 2031. Philippine Airlines currently operates 10 Boeing 777 widebody aircraft for long-haul routes, and the addition of the 787-10 will complement its existing medium-to-long-haul fleet while enhancing operational flexibility.
