Precision Innovations develops EDA software based on the open-source OpenROAD framework, enabling semiconductor teams to assess design feasibility, reduce design iterations, and accelerate time-to-market amid rising SoC complexity. The acquisition will supplement Siemens' existing digital design and verification solutions with AI-driven chip planning and design exploration capabilities, enhancing feasibility analysis efficiency and downstream decision-making quality.

Precision Innovations will join Siemens as a key complement to digital design creation software, further refining its digital design and implementation capabilities and providing an end-to-end digital flow covering architecture, implementation, and full silicon lifecycle management for SoCs.

Siemens noted that the acquisition combines Precision's technology with its own EDA products.
