en.Wedoany.com Reported - Boxmaker.Pro has launched a compact side-seam gluer, the SSG1600, designed for short-run corrugated box production, manual gluing operations, and prototyping applications.
Targeting packaging producers, box manufacturers, and board converters, the machine aims to reduce labor input in straight-line side-seam applications and improve job consistency, freeing up main folder-gluers from handling smaller, more challenging orders.
Typical application scenarios include short-run straight-line side-seam jobs, prototyping, rework, special orders, overflow orders, and jobs requiring a stable glue line where large folder-gluers are not the optimal choice.
The SSG1600 can also be optionally equipped with a tape head for applications such as tear tape or peel seal.
Simon Needham of Boxmaker.Pro stated that there remains a significant volume of difficult short-run and manual gluing jobs in the market, and the SSG1600 is designed to provide box manufacturers with a simple and economical way to handle these jobs more consistently, without overly complicating the process.
The SSG1600 is currently available for viewing and testing at Boxmaker.Pro's demonstration facility in Wiltshire, UK. Customers can send sample blanks, photos, drawings, or dimensions for suitability checks, and can choose to watch demonstrations either in person or via video.
Previously, Baumer hhs launched a side-seam gluing solution for straight-line box production, aimed at reducing waste and water usage by replacing glue wheel units with high-performance glue heads applying glue from below. Subsequently, Robatech introduced the Sirius pattern control solution for cold glue and hot melt applications, designed to achieve integrated pattern monitoring and maximize flexibility and efficiency. ACMI also launched the Opera Omnia labeler, designed for fast, simple, and automated applications covering roll-feed, cold glue, self-adhesive, hot melt, and combination labeling; compared to the previous generation model, this unit reduces footprint, enables inline integration, and simplifies installation through plug-and-play technology.
