en.Wedoany.com Reported - CMA CGM held a naming ceremony on July 22, officially naming its new LNG dual-fuel container vessel "CMA CGM Pantheon." With a capacity of 24,212 TEUs, the vessel will be deployed on the Asia-Europe FAL1 service and will operate under the French flag.

Captain Benoit Le Dreau and the vessel's godmother, Xiao Wang, Director of Programming and Exhibitions at the Shanghai International Film Festival, attended the ceremony. "Pantheon" is the sister ship of the previously named "CMA CGM Notre Dame."

The vessel has an overall length of 399.9 meters, a beam of 61.3 meters, IMO number 1028047, and is equipped with 1,600 reefer container plugs. The ship was built by Chinese shipbuilder Yangzijiang Xinfu Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.

"Pantheon" is part of CMA CGM's construction plan for 10 LNG dual-fuel vessels, all named after French and European landmarks. The lead vessel in the series, "CMA CGM Notre Dame," was named in Le Havre on July 2.

All 10 vessels will be registered under the French International Ship Register and deployed on CMA CGM's Asia-Northern Europe network. The project is expected to support the recruitment of an additional 135 French seafarers.

These vessels can operate on LNG and are compatible with biomethane and e-methane (when commercially available). LNG tank technology supplier GTT participated in the project, and certification company Bureau Veritas is responsible for vessel certification.

Headquartered in Marseille, CMA CGM operates in 177 countries and employs approximately 160,000 people. The privately-owned shipping and logistics group has a fleet of over 700 vessels, serving 420 commercial ports through more than 250 shipping routes. In 2025, the company reported revenue of $54.4 billion and transported 24.2 million TEUs.
