en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 25, the catenary hot-running test for the Kota Bharu–Gombak section of the CCCC East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project was successfully completed, marking that the railway line in this section is now ready for powered train operation.

To ensure the smooth execution of the hot-running test, the project general management department organized Divisions 11 and 13 to formulate a specialized test plan and emergency response plan in advance, conducting multiple rounds of technical briefings, equipment fine-tuning, and thorough hazard inspections across the entire line.

During the test, the inspection train completed low-speed and high-speed hot-running tests at predetermined speeds of 40–50 km/h and 60–80 km/h respectively, with smooth and orderly operation throughout. Monitoring data showed that the train's pantograph maintained close contact with the catenary, with stable current collection; the traction substation and power supply systems operated steadily; all equipment performed in good condition; and all technical indicators fully complied with design standards and industry specifications, marking the successful completion of the catenary hot-running test for the Kota Bharu–Gombak section.

The hot-running test is not only a "real-world test" for verifying the condition of the catenary, traction power supply, track, and pantograph-catenary interaction, but also a core critical test for validating the construction quality and reliability of the entire electrification system of the ECRL project. As a key verification procedure that must be completed before the electrified railway is put into operation, the completion of the hot-running test signifies that Phase 1 of the ECRL project is ready for powered operation, laying a solid foundation for the upcoming dynamic testing and fault-free operation.
