The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on deepening cooperation in the fields of geology and mineral resources between China and Mongolia, and reached consensus on launching joint projects and advancing multiple cooperation initiatives.
The representative of the China Geological Survey stated that this visit to Mongolia is an important arrangement to implement the outcomes of the talks between Mongolian Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources G. Damdinyam and China's Minister of Natural Resources during his visit to China in January 2026.
At that time, the two sides exchanged views on cooperation in the fields of geology and mineral resources and agreed to launch a series of practical cooperation projects.
Launch of China-Mongolia Joint Geological Projects
During the talks, the two sides first agreed to formally initiate geological cooperation between China and Mongolia.
According to the preliminary consensus, the National Geological Survey of Mongolia and the China Geological Survey will jointly implement projects, ushering in a new phase of geological survey and scientific research cooperation between the two countries.
Promotion of the Establishment of the China-Mongolia Geoscience Cooperation Center
In line with the consensus previously reached by the ministers of the two countries, both sides also plan to jointly establish the "China-Mongolia Geoscience Cooperation Center."
The cooperation center will focus on the following areas in the future:
Training young researchers from China and Mongolia;
Strengthening the development of talent teams in the geological field;
