Tender approved for dock extension works at the Port of Málaga, Spain, with a budget of €48.38 million
en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Board of Directors of the Port Authority of Málaga (Autoridad Portuaria de Málaga) has approved the tender for the extension of Dock 9 and the backfilling of Dock 8, aimed at creating a new multipurpose area to expand the port's operational and logistics capacity.

The project has a budget of €48,384,874.82 and a construction period of 27 months, making it the main port infrastructure investment currently being undertaken by the Port Authority.
The creation of the new area responds to the changes in cargo traffic experienced at the Port of Málaga in recent years, with the aim of consolidating growth trends and expanding existing operational space. The new area is expected to absorb growing demand, improve port operational efficiency, continue developing maritime transport-related activities, and consolidate the port's position as a logistics node within the Spanish and Mediterranean port system.
The approval of this tender is seen as a new phase in the transformation promoted by the Port Authority through the implementation of complementary measures, including the construction of a new road bridge, the relocation of fishing activities to new facilities, and the creation of a berthing area for official vessels.
