en.Wedoany.com Reported - Nextpower (NASDAQ: NXT) has completed the acquisition of Zigor Corporation's power conversion business and related assets of its U.S. subsidiary, Apex Power. The acquisition expands Nextpower's power technology platform to include UL-certified central inverters (for U.S. utility-scale solar and energy storage projects) and IEC-certified products (for European and other international markets), while adding proprietary inverter technology, established supply chain capabilities, and global engineering talent based in the U.S. and Spain with a combined centuries of power conversion experience.

Nextpower founder and CEO Dan Shugar stated that reliable power conversion is the foundation of modern energy infrastructure, and customers are seeking utility-scale solutions designed for long-term reliability and serviceability. Shugar noted that the new team's expertise and technology are engineered for exceptional reliability and availability, aligning with Nextpower's track record in project execution and long-term performance optimization.

Unlike traditional inverter architectures that require specialized tools or factory returns, Nextpower's modular platform is designed around field serviceability, helping owners restore systems faster and maximize long-term uptime. The company's utility-scale central inverters have achieved full UL certification and are commercially available in the U.S. market.

Jacob Marshall, Vice President and General Manager of Nextpower's power conversion business, noted that UL certification is a critical step in bringing this power conversion solution to U.S. customers at scale. Marshall explained that the central inverter platform is designed around the needs of utility-scale owners and EPC contractors, featuring a modular architecture to simplify maintenance, reduce downtime, and support long-term performance. Field-replaceable power modules use standard components and tools, giving owners greater flexibility and control over maintenance and repairs throughout the system's lifecycle.

Nextpower's power conversion portfolio offers central inverter solutions and modular configurations up to 5.2 MVA, designed for utility-scale solar and energy storage applications, communicating via a hardwired, cybersecurity-enabled site-level fiber optic network. The company is accelerating U.S. manufacturing capacity across multiple locations, with deliveries beginning to ramp in early 2027 and more than 10 GW of capacity expected to come online within twelve months.
