Peru's ENGIE Energy Reports Q2 2026 Net Profit of $23.5 Million

en.Wedoany.com Reported - ENGIE Energía Perú, one of Peru's largest power generation and transmission companies, recently released its consolidated financial results for the second quarter of 2026. Recurring net profit for the period stood at $23.5 million, up 22.2% from $19.2 million in the same period of 2025.

Recurring EBITDA for the period reached $67.4 million, up 12.0% year-on-year, while net sales revenue totaled $171.9 million, an increase of 10.4%. The results were released alongside continued progress on the company's growth strategy.

In the power generation segment, the company commenced construction of the Hanaqpampa solar power plant in Moquegua, adding 140.8 MW of renewable installed capacity with an investment exceeding $127 million. In the transmission segment, the company secured development rights for four public-private partnership (PPP) projects promoted by ProInversión, Peru's private investment promotion agency, involving approximately 400 kilometers of new transmission lines, as well as the construction and expansion of substations in Piura, Lambayeque, Junín, and Ayacucho. The related infrastructure will help enhance the reliability of the power system, benefiting more than 1.6 million people.

Myriam Akhoun, Chief Executive Officer and Country Manager for Peru, stated that the quarter's results reflect operational resilience and the effectiveness of the growth strategy being advanced in Peru. Despite an emergency situation in natural gas supply during the first quarter of 2026, the company maintained operational continuity and continued to advance investments in renewable power generation and transmission, consolidating its position as an integrated utility. Going forward, the company will continue to grow sustainably, developing strategic infrastructure and energy solutions to meet Peru's future energy needs.
