en.Wedoany.com Reported - Liebherr Maritime Cranes has launched the new four-rope grab crane CBG 310 for bulk cargo transshipment operations. The model, a successor to the CBG 300, features improvements in operational capacity, working speed, efficiency, and ease of maintenance.
In terms of performance data, the CBG 310 achieves a maximum hoisting speed of 130 meters per minute, 44% higher than its predecessor, reducing cargo handling time and vessel port turnaround time. The hook lifting capacity has been increased to 45 tons.
In terms of structural configuration, the crane maintains a 30-meter standard jib on floating facilities, with an optional maximum working radius of 32 meters for land-based sites. The cab volume is 7 cubic meters, designed to improve operator working conditions. Hydraulic hoses have been replaced by pipework integrated into the slewing column to reduce maintenance requirements and lifecycle costs.
Transshipment and logistics service provider Rocktree has become the first installation user of the CBG 310. After 11 years of continuous operation, the company replaced two CBG 300 cranes with CBG 310 units, becoming the first operator to install this model on eccentric jibs. Rocktree Managing Director and Fleet Manager Giovanni Colotto stated that adopting the CBG 310 allows the company to leverage operational experience gained from the previous generation while improving handling speed and lifting capacity.
In terms of digital features, the CBG 310 is equipped with Liebherr's Litronic control system to enhance the precision of crane movements during transshipment operations. The system integrates the SmartGrip function, which automatically adjusts grab behavior to optimize filling and reduce material loss; it also integrates LiCAS (Liebherr Collision Alert System), which continuously monitors distances to other Liebherr cranes and issues alerts when potential unsafe conditions are detected during operation.
Tim Ladendorf, Head of Sales for Ship Cranes, Ports and Transshipment Solutions at Liebherr-Rostock GmbH, stated that the CBG 310 is designed for operators with higher expectations of a proven design, representing a major step forward in capability while retaining the operating concept that crews know and trust.
